Manipuri cuisine
In earlier days, our elders (male) practised an age-old tradition of ‘Leipung Phamba’, where they gathered at a place in leisure time in the evening to share their stories, knowledge, personal experiences, professional knowledege, and discuss social and political issues. Youngsters joining them gained knowledge pertaining to life, political and other issues. Today, this practice is gradually fading.
At Leipung Cafe, a knowledge theme cafe in Manipur Bhawan, Guwahati, we attempt to revive this age-old tradition of knowledge sharing. Here at Leipung, you can enjoy reading Manipuri children folk tales, comics and magazines over delicious Manipuri food and experience ‘Manipur’.
Talking about Manipuri food, a touch of Manipur’s rich and vibrant culture reflects in each and every dish of Manipuri cuisine.
